My Background - Why I Became a Therapist
As a teen and young adult, I suffered from ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression and anxiety – disorders that negatively affected many aspects of my daily life, including school, work and personal relationships. I was not happy. Eventually, with persistent encouragement from my parents, I reached out for help and began to work with a therapist. As I learned more about my problems, I became very interested in their causes and potential solutions. This led me to return to school, earn a master’s degree in clinical social work, and ultimately, a career in clinical therapy where I believed my own experiences would assist me in helping others with similar issues.
As a licensed therapist, I specialize in working with teens and young adults, providing a safe and supportive environment for personal growth and healing. In addition to my private practice, I collaborate with a mental health agency in Los Angeles, through which I facilitate group therapy for high-school students. In this position, I assist students facing various challenges, including ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Beyond the school setting, I offer one-on-one therapy sessions to teens and young adults, supporting them in navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, harmful behaviors, trauma and PTSD. I provide in-person sessions for clients on the Westside of Los Angeles or remote telehealth sessions for clients who find in-person sessions inconvenient due to locational or time constraints.
Approach
My mission is to provide effective evidenced-based therapy for teens and young adults, such that many clients will meet their therapy goals in a short period of time. As each client is different, I believe in the power of integrating different therapy models and techniques to achieve optimal results. While Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) are the modalities I use most often, I can incorporate other therapeutic approaches as well. In some cases, where medical solutions are necessary, we will work with psychiatrists and other medical professionals with whom I have a relationship. My primary focus is on creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we embark on a therapeutic journey that emphasizes healing, resilience, and positive change.

Anxiety: I know that anxiety (including panic attacks) can feel overwhelming and debilitating, but with evidence-based techniques and compassionate guidance, we can work together toward managing your anxiety. Together, we will address the root causes of anxiety, develop coping skills, and implement strategies to regain control, reduce distress, and cultivate a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
Low self-esteem: I am dedicated to helping individuals build a healthier self-image, develop self-confidence, and cultivate self-compassion. Through therapy, we explore underlying beliefs, challenge self-critical thoughts including negative self-chatter, and foster a more positive and authentic self-perception. By promoting self-acceptance and self-worth, we work towards empowering you to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
PTSD resulting from sexual trauma: As a trauma specialist, I provide a safe and non-judgmental space to address and process the impact of sexual trauma. Together, we utilize trauma-focused therapies to help you heal from the past, reduce distressing symptoms, and regain a sense of safety and control in your life. With compassion and support, we work towards transforming trauma into resilience and growth.
Harmful behaviors and patterns: Many individuals find themselves caught in self-destructive patterns that hinder personal growth and well-being. Through therapy, we explore these patterns, uncover underlying triggers and dynamics, and develop healthier alternatives. By fostering self-awareness, implementing positive changes, and building effective coping skills, we aim to break free from destructive patterns and cultivate more fulfilling relationships and lifestyles.
Anger issues: Uncontrolled anger and lack of impulse control can negatively impact relationships, well-being, and overall quality of life.
